Question Solid White Wall Verandah

Hi
We have booked our first ever cruise. We are on the 4 night cruise and currently have stateroom 7682. It is described as having a solid white wall verandah. Can anyone tell me what that means?
Also we are not sure if we will suffer with sea sickness, I think this room as aft, will this make a big difference?
Thanks in advance for any advice

With the white walled verandah you can't see the ocean when you are seated. You'll have to stand up to see anything outside. What's great about the clear plexiglas wall is that you can sit on the verandah and still see the ocean. With the clear wall you can also see the ocean from inside your room.

The front (fore) and the rear (aft) of the ship are known to get more movement than the middle are (midship). I found I felt the movement more aft than fore, but I know peple who say the opposite. If you do not know whether you will suffer from sea sickness I suggest you plan/pack accordingly. There are several options...from eating/drinking things with ginger in them, to Sea-Bands which work on accupressure points, to OTC medications like Bonine and Dramamine and prescription meds like the Scopolamine patch. If you have never had any issues with motion sickness before, than I would recommend just bringing some Bonine with you "just in case".

Those photos are of solid whitewall verandahs on the Magic or Wonder. The Dream's setup is a good bit different. On aft staterooms like 7682, the white wall is about 18 inches tall, and there's clear plexiglass above that. You can see the general layout in this photo , courtesy of HallsofVA. Note the shipbuilders standing on the verandahs. That'll give you an idea of what part is clear, what part is solid. While you can't see 7682, the railing wraps right around to that room at the same height.

DW and I used Sea bands on our November 2009 3 night cruise. Had no problems with sea sickness and that was with tropical storm Ida in the mix.
