There is a huge thread on the disboards about the opening. A couple of people mentioned parking fees. $35 a DAY. Someone said that all you have to do is show your member card and it is free. Another person said something that led me to believe that it is only for Aulani members. Anyone have a clue as to the parking fee? Everything is so expensive in Hawaii but add in parking and I think it might bust my budget.

From everything that I have seen thus far, there is a $35 parking fee assessed at check in, however it is complimentary for DVC members.
Like you said, things are expensive in Hawaii . . . and that $35 sure trumps the $25 per night my parents paid at their hotel in San Diego on our trip a couple of weeks ago for the highest nightly parking fee I have seen!
I was just looking at this for someone earlier today - per the DVC website, self-parking will be available at no daily charge for up to two cars for DVC Members and for those with a disabled parking permit. Valet parking will also be available for a charge. So - it does sound like there is a fee involved for non-members.
Alright...I attempted to attach a picture. The sign clearly states for DVC members the fee is waved. Also, if you spend $35 at one of the restaurants (and you WILL!), you can get the parking ticket validated and the price knocked off.
