Question No after 2pm or after 4pm conference tickets?

I am going to WDW next month for a conference. In the past I was able to purchase After 2:00pm or After 4:00pm tickets. I got an email from WDW with a link to where you could purchase the Conventioneers tickets, but when I got to the site, it said those tickets were "unavailable", and that I would have to buy all day tickets. Has anyone heard of Disney changing their policy?

That will be a serious bummer if true. I stayed at the Dolphin at the end of march and was able to purchase a half-day ticket on my last day of training (from the desk in the lobby) so I could enjoy my last afternoon/evening of the conference in Epcot dining at Teppan Edo.

I don't know, but I would suggest calling and checking maybe the website was down for that? Good luck!

Two thoughts--
1. Maybe the conference organizer has to request that type be available, and they didn't?
2. The ticket price for the full day is so low, that they didn't offer the 1/2 day. Did you look at what the regular conference ticket price is?

It's been a while since I've been involved in group event planning at WDW, but I recall being asked whether admission should be offered at all. I can't say I've heard anything lately about policy changes (I'd call that a marketing change, myself), but it sounds like the kind of decision the conference organizer would have a say in. Different durations for the tickets can have a different impact on attendance at conference events (like, encouraging folks to leave before 2:00pm or 4:00pm), or perhaps they're organizing some in-park activities that require admission earlier in the day. All this is just an educated guess, though.

Keep in mind that it's up to the conference/convention you're attending whether or not special ticket deals are offered as part of the event.

Disney still offers them, but the conference/convention organizers have to agree to allowing their attendees to get them.

Cheriemek--are you going to the Gartner Conference? DH is attending that conference (DD & I are tagging along) & he was wondering about convention tickets, too.

I bought conference priced tickets in May, but this was for Destination D, a Disney sponsored conference.

Maybe on the evening you are looking at, they are having the MNSSHP? I would think that during those special ticketed events, they would want you to purchase (full price) admission to the Halloween Party. Just a guess.

If it's one you saved from the previous conference, I'd guess the link was tied to that meeting and has expired now that the conference is over.
If it's one you got with regard to this particular meeting, I'd be confused too. Why send a special link unless the tickets existed. Is there a discount rate for the full day tix?

Usually the conference organizers send a link to attendees and the link takes them to Disney's special site created for this specific conference and this specific conference's offerings. (You actually have to purchase the tickets from Disney through this page created for the conference.) You usually have to print out a confirmation page and bring along your conference credentials and pick up the special tickets at a Will Call window, and you have to show the credentials and ID in order to pick up the actual tickets.

If you use an outdated link, or there's a problem with the special page for this conference, that could be the issue. I'd contact the conference organizers and see what assistance they can give you.

If it is the Gartner conference, I checked their conference website this afternoon & they had a link to purchase tickets to all the Orlando parks, not just DW. There were "after 2pm" tickets listed (single park only--no hoppers) at a decent price. The link was to a ticket broker, similar to UT.

The email I got was from Disney a few months ago. It is sent to all of their "conventionears". There are a few links - like how to get the most out of your resort, etc. The link to purchasing park tickets works. However, when it lists the various ticket options, "after 2" and "after 4" it says not available.

We are at the Boardwalk!!! We are leaving on Saturday so DH can spend some time in the parks with us. Since no one else from his company is attending, he is thinking he will have some extra free time & can meet us in the parks, so if you know of another good source of convention tickets, let me know. I checked Gartner's site & found a ticket broker link.
