Lion king show is leaving ???

So I heard that the lion king show is ending I think in January to make room for Avatar land. The rumor is It may be relocated or maybe retired Disney hasn't made the decision yet. This show is great and I hope they keep it and IMO I just don't see the fun in Avatarland. Avatarland is apparently going to be where camp minnie mickey is so this would make sense....who likes Avatar that much anyway,so bummed

My Previous TripsToo many to count in my childhood but most recent trips I can remember is our honeymoon at Grand Floridian 2002, OKW 2004,2005, Disneyland Grand Californian 2007, SSR 2009, BCV & Kidani 2010,BCV May 2011,WLV 2012, SSR 2013

Noooo! I can't imagine that they would take such a successful show and just end it. I love the Lion King. And I'm not all that fond of Avatar, so I'd be doubly disappointed.

Oh. I suppose I'll have to make it a priority to check it out this trip, just in case. I hope it doesn't - I love musical shows, and it would be terrible to lose one for a land that won't even open for another few years.

Oh no! If that's true, we'll have to be sure to see it on our December trip....

In front of the beautiful Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City as part of our Bagman Days trip, which starts with north eastern America and eastern Canada. The trip report continues for our Baltic cruise.

I just saw it for the first time last year and it is an amazing show! It would be a shame if they discontinued it, I hope that's not true

That would be sad. Grandson loves the music from Lion King and I want to take him to this if we can go next year, really upset if they dont have it by then. All the Grandkids love to see it.
Love the Magic of Disney Thanks Dad for our first 5 trips.

I would be surprised (and disappointed!) if they didn't relocate it... I feel that the Lion King show is one of the must - see's of the Animal Kingdom!

I don't know about you all but we do this every trip and I have yet to see an empty seat. Why close a popular show. Disney has done crazier things though.

...yeah that will be disappointing. I do not understand Avatar wasn't even a movie geared towards children!

I hoping that this is not true. It is closing down in its current location but I heard they were going to give it a more permanent location with an actual stage etc.

Oh my, tell me it isn't so. FOLK, in my opinion, is the BEST of the BEST show that Disney has to offer. Love it each time I see it and I go at least once on all of my trips and more if I can fit it in. I'm not looking forward to AvitarLand either, but what do I know. Not something that appealed to me, even after rave reviews, so I have never even seen the movie. Avitar doesn't exactly fit in with Disney, again, just my opinion!
