My daughters and I will be spending a day at Discovery Cove when we are in Orlando in June, 2013. For those of you who have been, have you done the Trainer for a Day experience? I'm trying to decide between that and the regular dolphin interaction experience. The price difference is nearly $700, so if I do it I want to make sure it's worthwhile. My daughters will be 9 and 10 when we visit. The other concern I have is that the website indicates that all children under 14 (I believe) must be accompanied by an adult. Does this mean one adult per child or am I able to be the adult for each of them?
We just recently got back from our trip and we went to Discovery Cove. It was our best day of the trip. I noticed when we were sitting down to lunch they had some back tables reserved for TRAINER FOR THE DAY. I didn't even know they had that until I saw that sign. I would be very interested in doing that. I had no idea what is involved, how long it lasts or how much it costs but I am going to check into it.
When we did the Dolphin swim we had only 2 adults for 3 children, all under 14. So one parent can be there for all the kids.

We've been and did the regular dolphin deal and it was really great. We thought it was enough for us. I'd try to figure out how you want to spend your day there and see what the time commitment is for the trainer for the day. If it is an all day deal, you might not get to enjoy the rest of the park. Have a great time, I hope we can go back some day.
