Ok I saw an article so I'm not 100% sure of its validity but it stated that Disney Parks announced tonight that WDW is closing Main Street Bakery and replacing it with Starbucks now I was ok with Starbucks coming to WDW but not at the expense of Main Street Bakery!!! I'm REALLY hoping this is just a rumor and NOT true!
I saw it in two places and sure seemed valid. I'm furious about this! I'm not one to get upset about changes at Disney because they usually know what they're doing in the end, but this is not right! I'm all for Disney having better coffee, and though Starbucks isn't my favorite, it is better than what they have. However, there had to be a better option. Why not in the Tomorrow land Terrace or somewhere over there. It doesn't belong on Main Street in full force like that. It's detracting from the vision of Walt's Main Street USA.
The Disney Parks blog posted it this evening so I don't think it's a rumor. I can see replacing the Fountain View in Epcot with a Starbucks (it's never been a big deal to me), but the Main Street Bakery! While I like Starbucks (for it's tea, peppermint hot chocolate and lemon pound cake ) I think replacing the Main Street Bakery is a mistake.

I'm not a Starbucks consumer, so the original news (it's been awhile now...) to add Starbucks to the parks didn't make me happy. To see that the Main Street Bakery has to close to make room for this organization makes me really sad
this is the most ridiculous news about WDW that I've heard in a long time? now why would they want to go and commercialize such an iconic place? Walt is rolling over in his grave over this! they can't be serious? not on Main St.! there wasn't a Starbucks on Main St in Walt's vision, there wasn't a Starbucks in "Smalltown USA", so if the idea is to keep tradition, then this is truly a bad move! if you must have it, do it at Downtown Disney, not Main Stt. USA!
