I'm turning 40 in April, and my husband asked what I want to do for my birthday. I want to go to Disney. I can't take my kids out of school, because though they both do well, they have to really work hard, and I don't want to put extra stress on them (our school district does allow 5 days for vacation, though). I'm a nurse, so I can't go on Easter break because it's too hard to get that week off of work. So we're going to go the first week the kids are off of school in summer. Problem is, if this is my 40th birthday present, I'd actually like to celebrate my birthday there (pin and a special meal--nothing big). it will be 2 months after my birthday. Is that wrong?
I don't think so. My wife and I are planning to go in September '13. We both turn 40 in early '14 and we're going to make it our 40th birthday trip. We've also celebrated our 10th anniversary, at Disney, eight months after it actually happened.
Nope, not wrong! We celebrated DS's 16th birthday a few months later, and DH & I just got back a month ago, where we celebrated my 50th (a month before), his 51st (2 weeks later), and our 26th Anniversary (a week later). No one batted an eye, we wore the buttons and had a great time!

Go for it!! We went in March last year -- celebrated DS's birthday 3 months late and DD's birthday 2 months early - gave them each their own day to celebrate! Disney's all about celebrating!! ENJOY :-)
I see nothing wrong with it. My birthday will fall nearly 3 weeks after we come home from our trip next year and I suspect my DW will let them know I am close to being officially OLD. In fact she is pushing for us to get a mobile home so that we can load up the Girls and be there for my Officailly OLD birthday
When our youngest turned three we didn't celebrate at home because we had told him he was going to WDW for his birthday...We celebrated his birthday exactly a month late and he got just as much attention as my MiL did on her actual 60th birthday the previous day!
Disney are just happy you are spending your $$$$ with them! Have fun!
Thanks everyone. It looks like we're going to have to postpone because I may be going from a pool RN position to full time, and summer vacations are so hard to get. I think we're going in the fall for our vacation. I'll think of some way to celebrate at home lol.
