DD Samantha is responding well to being on the vent. Her demand for oxygen has decreased. Thursday night/Friday morning, she was on 70-80% O2 just to keep her oxygen levels in her body at about 88-92%. On the vent, she needs 50% to keep her at about 98%! (regular room air is about 21%).
She is awake off and on, and using her iPad to communicate. She can't quite type everything she wants, and auto-correct is messing some of it up, but we're getting the gist of it. She's going to be in hospital for a while still, and the vent for the next few days at least, but things are looking a little better today.
Thank you for all the pixies, my dear, dear friends. It means a lot to me to know there are so many people out there who haven't even met us and yet who care so much.
