Much as I'd love to read LOTS more than I did last year, I need to acknowledge real life too.
My goal for this year will be 30. Last year my goal was 25 and I finished 26. So a 20% increase.
My goal last year was 55....and I only came in at 40. However, I think there were a few reasons for the lower number last year that are not going to be present this year, so I'm going to go with 50. I know I can do it!

I didn't set a goal last year because my reading during the school year is very slow though steady. If I could count all the essays I grade, my total could be higher. Anyway, I've decided to set a goal this year at 15. That is quite low compared to the rest of you, but it's a start.
Okay, I'm in. I have a new-found love for reading after purchasing a Nook at the end of June. Not sure what number I should go with...I have back-to-back student teachers this Spring and I don't know if that will mean more or less work for me. Hmmmm...I think I'll shoot for 25. I'm hoping for more, but I think 2 books a month is definitely reasonable.

My last year teaching high school(before my 5 year stint staying home with my kids...which was before nursing school LOL)--- I had a student teacher. By the middle of the semester...I was pretty much just in the back of the room watching her all day. To calm her nerves...I kept a book or the paper open (so she didn't FEEL like I was watching her all day)....On average, I read a book a day .
Well, I joined this group last year, with a goal of 50 books, and I did very poorly with just 9 ( . I will blame part of that on working night shift up until November which I am no longer doing --I now live in the land of the living workign 9-5). Sooo. I'm going to set my goal at 30. I am in two bookclubs now (couldn't really do book clubs when on night shift). One is reading Divergent, and the other 11/22/63 (I may have that title wrong)---by Stephen King.
I set a goal of 30 for last year and that was less than I read the year before. I came in at goal +1. I realized last night that I never wrote down one book..there are 7 Harry Potter books, not 6!
I set a goal of 45 book for 2012 and only made it to 35, which was less than the year before. I really fell off with my reading the second half of the year, and I've promised myself not to let that happen this year. I've also set a personal goal to read at least 30 minutes a day so I'm hoping that will help me along!
That said, I'm going to stick with 45 book again for 2013 as I think it's doable! Happy reading everyone!
