Question Dining question

Ok, since DL dining plan is nothing like WDW dining plan. I have opted to pay oop for our meals. Since I will be paying are you restricted on buying kids meals? My girls will be 11 and turning 13 when we go, but don't eat like a full grown adult. I would like to still buy them kid's meals and especially if I decide to eat at Blue Bayou for Lauren's birthday meal. They have steak and spaghetti on their kid's menu, which would be what the girls would want. Then my meal wouldn't be outrageous in price.
I just wasn't sure how they would take ordering kid's meals for kids over 9.

We ate at Ariel's Grotto last April with the WOC package. All of the kids in our party were over "kid" age, but three of them are either picky eaters or not big eaters. We asked about getting things off the kids menu in bigger portions and/or just ordering the kids meal portion. They were so accommodating They brought us bigger portions of the kids meals, but not full adult portions or let them just order off the kids meal. We were not charged full adult prices for anything not on the adult menu.

Otherwise, have you thought about just splitting meals? I have done that with my two and have had no issues.

Another great trip for the books!
