Hello Passporter friends! I have a question for a friend and I really didn't know the answer. His wife is taking their 3 girls to WDW for a week, but he can only join them for two days, work commitments and all. She is doing a whole package with the girls, dining plan, etc... Here are my questions:
Can he fly in and use Magical Express if they are already there?
Can he stay in their room, even though he won't be on the package like they are? Not a big deal if he can't have a room key. (I believe they have plans to book at POR in the Alligator Bayou section)
Thanks in advance!

He would have to be registered to the room in order to take Magical Express. I believe she can add him to the reservation after she gets there and book him on DME then.
The main problem I see is that if he's not on the original reservation, they have no guarantee of getting a room that will accommodate 5 guests. You can't specifically book AB, so it will just be a request.
Could she book a package for herself and the girls for the beginning of the trip, then a room-only reservation for all 5 of them after her husband arrives?

Actually, she could guarantee getting AB by booking a preferred room since preferred rooms are only in AB.
I think this could be a package problem as well. I thought that all the people in the room had to be on the same package. Don't think you can add in for certain days, would probably have to be seperate reservations.

I'm pretty sure the husband can be added after check-in without having to be on the package. The only potential problem I can see is what annc98 mentioned - that if they don't have an AB room (which can accommodate 5 people), then he couldn't be added because it would put the room over capacity, unless one of the girls is under 3.
When we went in 2010 all four of us checked into a family suite at ASMusic at the same time using a free dining pin code. After the first week my DH and DS left to meet my DBs in south Fla. for a few days of camping/hunting. We didn't check them out, or even let the resort know they had gone.
Thanks guys. I know the dining plan isn't a big deal..he'll just pay OOP for meals...the week they're going they won't get any kind of free dining or even a promo at all I don't think. He just wants to b abel to stay in their room. I will let them know about the preferred room at POR! Thanks so much!!

If there is no promotion/discount.... maybe it would be better to just book a room only with all five of them listed from the get go... then no problems using DME.... you can just purchase tickets and food by theirselves.... That would be the easiest solution, I think...
They want dining plan...and it would be silly to pay for dining plan for him too, if he'll only be there two days. With all 3 girls being under 10, I feel the dining plan is still a good deal for them.
Thanks so much!
