Extra Magic Hours for November

Hi

We're just starting to plan our trip for November this year. Please can you tell me when we could expect to see the Extra Magic Hours published or is it reasonable to base our thoughts at this stage on the dates from last year? Also the Mickey Christmas Party will be on whilst we're there and whilst we don't want to go I assume this means the Magic Kingdom would close very early?

Thanks
Kit

November hours will be posted mid to late April. The MK closes at 7:00 on dates when the MVMCP takes place.

Generally speaking the park hours are posted at least by the time you can make your ADR's. And yes, MK will close early on the nights of MVMCP. When I don't know when the EMH will be, I tend to just plan the days as I normally would but know that I would likely change around what day they actually will happen on. I like having the option to go to EMH but we don't always make it Also, soon as you know the actual days of the MVMCP, you know those won't be MK days unless you are going to park hop to somewhere else mid afternoon. Many things you can do in the planning process til the official hours come out.

Actually, if you don't care about seeing Wishes and the MSEP, MVMCP days are good days to visit MK because crowds are lower due to most people not wanting to go on a day with shorter hours and no nighttime entertainment.

I agree. I have also found this to be true.

Also, I have noticed a trend in EMH. They tend to have certain parks on certain days for EMH, such as MK is typically a evening EMH on Sundays. Thursday mornings are typically EMH for MK. Saturday morning is EMH for HS. Friday night is typically EMH for Epcot. This does change some when they have special events, such as MVMCP - so if MVMCP is on a Sunday, they will change the day of the MK EMH.

We found that you can get a pretty good idea of what nights during your stay may be MVMCP by looking at a past year's schedule when November 1 was on a Saturday as it is this year.

I checked my desktop calendar for a year with an identical November for last year when we were to be there and googled for that year's MVMCP schedule to get an idea of when it might be on during our stay. Once last year's schedule was released, we found it was exactly the same pattern for our stay as a few years before. Easy-peasy, but no guarantees of course.
