Any ideas for the mousekeepers?

I have heard that sometimes the little extras that guests leave the mousekeepers are appreciated, besides a tip. Any clever ideas out there? I was thinking about a postcard from my home town with a note on it. Any other ideas?

Re: Any ideas for the mousekeepers?

Joanne,
I had brought along three little stuffed Mickey's to decorate the room. On the day we left I placed one of them with the mousekeeping envelope. I wrote a note that said something along the line of "This Mickey let us know he would be happier to stay here with you."

Chocolate is always good!!! I have heard of some people leaving a candy bar for mousekeeping along with the tip each day . . . I have thought about that as well as leaving a bottle of cold water with it!!! They deserve a snack too!!!

Re: Any ideas for the mousekeepers?

Since I have heard that the mousekeeping at POR can be iffy, do you think I should leave them something on our first day to see if it makes a difference?

Re: Any ideas for the mousekeepers?

I am going to fold my money into origami shapes, ex. little shirts with mousekeeping tags, a little money box with mousekeeping tag on it. Hopefully they'll see them and take them.

Re: Any ideas for the mousekeepers?

We left a tip everyday, although the 1st day the maid did not take it as we had not left a note with it. On the last day, we left what was left of our Orlando area Entertainment book for the maid with a note attached. We had used some of the coupons, but since it would be expiring before our next trip, we thought the maid could get some use out of it instead of throwing it away. We heard that the maid absolutely loved it!

Re: Any ideas for the mousekeepers?

On our last trip, we left the mousekeepers' daily tips in envelopes that I created with our Pooh Print Shop program. They had "The Barrie Family, Anchorage Alaska" in the return address area, a Pooh & friends picture, and "Thank you for your special part in our magical vacation!" on the main part of the envelope. I had created little cards (business card size) that said thank you and had a little blurb on them, and put those cards inside the envelopes with the cash.

I like the idea of chocolates though! There's a company here (probably several) that make "Alaskan" candies. I think I'll bring some of the small individual sized ones and put them inside the envelopes with the cards & cash. I think it's a great idea to show them a little piece of your home.

What a cool post! Thanks for starting it. I hope we get a few more ideas. I love ideas!
