| Anybody ever see a launch at Kennedy Space Center?
I went to the KSC website today and couldn't figure out when tickets are released for upcoming launches or how much they cost. I did sign up for the newsletter, but if someone's done this, I'd love to hear about it.
Wearing the NASA t-shirt I bought when we visited in May, and saw the shuttle waiting (and still waiting, they just cancelled again due to weather), and thinking how cool it would be to be there...There are two more shuttle launches before Christmas, as well as 3 commercial rocket launches. The timing is pretty unpredictable (as this weekend illustrates), but one shuttle launch is scheduled for Dec 14 (with the window to Dec 31--of course we wouldn't be able to be there if it were considerably delayed). We were considering a trip to WDW for just before the Christmas high season starts...seems like another good reason to me! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/woot.gif[/img] |

We tried to see a lift off last year in July, but the launch got scrubbed due to a sensor. If it doesn't take off on Tuesday, there is talk that it may take off on Monday the 10th. We will be at Disney then and may try to see it. | |

We have been to KSC 3 times, I think, but never when there was a lift-off. We were at EPCOT one year and were able to see it as it streaked across the sky. It would really be cool to see it from KSC.

I saw satellite launch while I was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago -- not from KSC - but from the hotel bar next to the pool. It was cool!!!     | |

We saw it about 5 years ago, but KSC was closed off then during the launch [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]. We went to a nearby beach and saw it from there-what a view and the noise was amazing! We did go to KSC afterwards and the traffic to get there was bumper to bumper [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]     | |
