Kennedy Space Centre for kids

We're looking at going to the Kennedy Space Centre in December with Mark's family. Part of the party includes a three year old boy and a six year old girl. Will there be enough for them to do or will they get bored?

Cheryl the first time we went there Ethan was 4 and Josh 6 and they both had plenty to do.

We went on the tour first which Josh enjoyed more but Ethan loved being able to run up and down the length of the Saturn (I think) rocket when you get out of the tour bus half way through. Aslo there are plenty of interactive kids stuff in the same building and if I remember rightly that's where the boys got their photo done of them "weightless" inside the shuttle bay.

There is also a cool pay area once you get back to the main building which both boys loved. By the play area there are some picnic benches under shaded canopies so you can get a drink from the cafe and watch the kids. Alo around there is some great adult stuff to do so all members of your party can have fun.

Hope this helps

I'd highly recommend a visit Cheryl. Jack & Elliot both find KSC fascinating. We're planning a return trip this year.
I think their first trips were when they were about 3.

Alexa and Colin were just 4 and 7 on our last trip. They had a good time. As mentioned above, they had a great time running the length of the Saturn rocket in the Saturn building. It also helped them get rid of some energy. They also enjoyed the first stop on the tour, although there wasn't much there for them to do, and they were happy to just eat some Space Dots (ice cream).

Back at the main campus, Colin went with me to walk thru the Space Shuttle, and to see the Astronaut Wall. They also enjoyed running around the Rocket area, and in August, they had a sprinkler going to help cool things off. It wasn't a wasted trip by any means :

The first time we went, our kids were 4 and 14; our son was with MAW, and not in the best health, but he LOVED it! We have pics of him with his little plastic space shuttle zooming it in front of the larger one (didn't pose the picture, but it's one of my favorites); he wasn't bored for most of it; and on the bus ride when he got a little bored, we just looked for alligators!

Antonio who was 7 when we went had a good time. There was enough to see, do, and explore for him to be happy.

We went last when my DD was 6, and she has a great time! She loved the space food (freeze dried) - she got a ice cream sandwich one, I think! And, she absolutely loved the gift shop!! Some things never change...

They should be fine, especially in the "Space Craft" garden, where they can actually crawl into some of the capsules- even MY two got along while they were there !

Just off the Space Center site is the Astronaut Hall of Fame. You can get a combo ticket with KSC. When DD was 5 they literally had to kick us out of hte HoF in order to close. She loved the exhibits there -- a simulated space walk, trying on a helmet. I don't remember what else.
