Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near KSC? I am thinking of taking an overnight flight to MCO, arriving early in the morning and driving over to KSC. After a full day of touring (after arriving from Phoenix!), I am sure we will be pooped. I was thinking we might just get a hotel near KSC, sleep in a little, then drive to WDW from there the next morning. I have looked all over the KSC site and in all of our (Passporter) threads, but I don't see anyone mentioning this topic. Am I just missing it? Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks!

KSC is huge, so there are no hotels "near" the Visitor Center. Titusville is closest to the Visitor Center - maybe 10 minutes down the road. You'll find the usual line-up of chain hotels/motels. Another choice is to stay in Port Canaveral, near the seaport. The Radisson at the Port, the RonJon resort and several others are just a few minutes drive east of SR 3, which you'll take north to reach the Visitor Center. There are also hotels in Cocoa (not Cocoa Beach, which is on the Atlantic, but the town of Cocoa, which is on the mainland) that will also be convenient.
Most vacationers who plan to stay overnight in the area tend to head towards the beach, since they'll enjoy two experiences (KSC and beach) rather than just one. We've got lots of advice about lodgings in Cocoa Beach and Port Canaveral in our Disney Cruise Line forum and in our DCL guidebook.

I actually just was searching on hotels.com, and boy are there a ton! And Dave, thanks for the heads up...I didn't realize that Cocoa and Cocoa Beach were different places. I am headed over to the DCL forum now to see what I can find out!
