KSC tours

I have a question concerning the Kennedy Space Center tour that departs every 15 minutes from the Visitor Complex. It says on the website that the tour takes approx 2 to 2.5 hours. Can anyone tell me how the tour works? I understand that there are three stops along the way: International Space Station Center, LC-39 Observation Gantry and Apollo/Saturn V Center. I there a fixed time you get to spend at each stop or do you get off the bus, stay as long as you want and take the next available bus to continue with the tour?

Thanks for your help!

At the space station building and the other building (must have been the Apollo/Saturn V Center) you can get off and explore at leisure and go catch a bus when you're done. The materials also promoted a launch pad view or some such thing - for that the bus drives by, slows down, etc. but you don't actually stop or get out.
We did the KSC tour last year. Granted, my family is rather biased in this area (dad did subcontracting for NASA, FIL worked for NASA, DB is USAF retired...) but we loved it. There was more to see and do than our last visit (admitedly, mid-70s). I suggest you also do the Astronaut Hall of Fame. It was very kid friendly and I think that was where you could actually walk in a space shuttle.

We went on this tour too and really enjoyed it! I thought my children, who are young, would be bored, but they had a great time and were really interested!!

We did the tour last Monday and yes the bus run approximately ever 15 minutes. If you go on the first tour bus of the day which starts at 10:00am you more or less have to stay at the Observation platform until the next Apollo/Saturn V Center opens up. We spend most of our time here at the Apollo/Saturn V Center. We didn't spend much time at the International Space Station. We probably were on the bus tour a total of 2 hours. But again you can stay as long as you like.
