| Jacksonville! As some of you know, my husband no longer works for Disney..the good news: he works for the Omni Hotel just outside of Orlando. He absolutely loves it. Anyway, he can get a hugely discounted rate at all other Omni hotels. We needed a little getaway..so next week we are staying at....Omni Jacksonville! Woohoo! It's right along the St. John's River and right next to Jacksonville Landing. It's a 4 star hotel, striving to be a 5 star and it's perfect for us..and it only costs us $35 a night!!!! (normally near $200 a night). We plan on swimming in the rooftop pool, walking to Jacksonville Landing for dinner and ice cream. We also plan on taking a water taxi to the other side of the river to see the Friendship Fountain and tour the Jacksonville Maritime Museum (free). Lastly, we plan on visiting Jacksonville Zoo (free since we have membership at Brevard Zoo). So, it will be a cheap little getaway for us..and we so badly need it!!!!! Any suggestions on the city? Did we make good choices? Remember, we have a six year old so you have to keep him in mind for entertainment. When I get back, I'll be sure to post a trip report and review of the hotel! Thanks. Kelly

| Sounds like a fun time. We like staying at Omni hotels - if you ever get to Charlotte NC that one is really nice too. Glad your DH is with a good company.
