| City of the Week: Vero Beach This week's feature city is Vero Beach! Vero Beach was incorporated in 1919 as the City of Vero. In 1925, it became the City of Vero Beach and was transferred from St Lucie County to Indian River County! Imagine how confusing that would be if it happened today!  Vero Beach is famous, of course, for it's beaches! But in addition to tourism, citrus packing and the aviation industry add to the economy! Piper Aircraft, Inc. is one of the major employers in the area! But it's not all about work! Dodgertown Sports & Conference Center - Dodgertown Sports and Conference Center is the spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers! And McKee Botanical Garden - Vero Beach, Florida is a beautiful garden that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places! | Thanks so much for the info, Sue! We're planning on staying at Disney's Vero Beach next year as part of our honeymoon so it's nice to learn more about the place

| I really loved Vero Beach. We were only there for 3 days and did not get to see too much of the town, but loved the area. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

| Just back from Vero this week and just put some pictures up on Flickr. Mostly family but some shots of Ocean Grill, and the beach too. Plus a few pics of the DVC resort. The DVC is maybe a qurter to a half mile up the beach from the pics labeled beach club so it's the same bit of beach the DVC is on. My grandparents retired down there years ago so I have a real soft spot for Vero. It's a great town. Just really starting to use Flickr so hopefully this link works: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dmspics/collections/
