| KSC/Cocoa Beach Hotel rec ? My husband is a HUGE space nut and we are planning a 2-3 day visit to KSC next April (hopefully to view a launch) , then over to WDW! I am clueless where to stay, as I have never been there, and the last time DH went he was about 7 yrs old! Does anyone have any recommendation for a hotel in the Cocoa Beach area? Any suggestions regarding transportation from MCO to Cocoa Beach, then Cocoa Beach to WDW? (We don't want a rental car- I am thinking LIMO Thanks for any info!!! Patti

| We stayed at the Residence Inn at Cocoa Beach. Very nice, it opened spring of 2006, and free breakfast. We had a rental car (stayed there before the cruise - went to KSC earlier that day) but not sure how you'd get to KSC from the hotel. You could take a towncar/limo from MCO to the beach, and from the beach to WDW, but I think you'd have to take a taxi from the hotel to KSC and back again. It might just be cheaper to rent a car ![]()

| Thanks Marnie- Residence Inn was on my short list. Still in early planning stages, we are considering a KSC launch tour package thru Gator Tours or one other group-(can't remember the name, but both are authorized by KSC to sell the tours)- they do pick up , take you to KSC, then return you to the hotel. I know we'll pay more, but neither one of us wants driving duty Patti

| We loved the Radisson at the Port! Tropical theme, nice pool and sleep number beds in big rooms. We got an Internet deal for $129/night, but there was another deal for I believe $109/night. I would also vote for a rental car. You could probably still book a KSC tour through the tour company, but it would work out cheaper and more convenient to have a car while you are there.

| We were just there, for the two days before our Disney cruise. We stayed at the Best Western....none of us were terribly happy with it. It was dark and dated, but clean. It is right on the ocean, so that was nice. I had to book a room at the Radisson for my ds and his wife, and it was beautiful. I paid a bit less for their king suite than I did for my room at the BW, and man, was I depressed after seeing his room!! Should have changed resorts..oh, well, live and learn. We rented a car through Budget, right at MCO. The drive was incredibly easy...easy to get out of the airport and easy to get to port. I was truly surprised by the ease. And the drive back to WDW was equally as easy. Although we were heading to Tampa, we did pass by WDW on the way. I would seriously consider renting a car. The driving you would have to do would be really easy stuff, both from the airport, to KSC and then to WDW.
