| Discovery Shuttle Launch October 23? Has anyone else heard this? Where exactly would you go to watch a lift-off? Is it worth doing? If you do go, how early would you need to be there? Any info would be really appreciated!! ![]()

| This is the current date as of now. If you log onto kennedyspacecenter.com you can sign up for launch updates. I understand that a lot of people go to Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral.

Yes, do sign up. I love getting their updates. Go early. My best friend and her family tried to find a spot along the highway from Orlando (can't think of the name) this summer and found it to be very crowded. They didn't bother staying. We've seen a couple from WDW and our hotel years ago!

| So long as the weather holds up, you can see the shuttle going up from WDW and most of the resorts. Of course, all you see is a big fireball in the sky and the entrails but it is still an awesome sight. I was there in August to see the launch and all Cast Members tell you where the best place to view is and where to look, they also let you know what time the launch is going to be.

| Will we be able to see it from the Caribbean at all? I'm so bummed that they changed the date. We will be in Grand Cayman that day on the Magic.

| I have seen the shuttle at launch at the Studios, but it is very small. You have to be looking for it. I live on the NE side of "town" and only about 30 miles from the Cape, so I get a pretty good view. Last December's nighttime launch was spectacular. Keep in mind that on Disney property, you are at least anohter 35 miles further from the Cape than I am.....
