| Has anyone visited Sarasota? I'm thinking we might head over there for a day in December - in particular I really like the look of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, not so much for the Art Museum, but for the Ca d'Zan Mansion, Circus Museum and Historic Asolo Theatre - anyone ever been to either the city and museum? If so, is it worth visiting for the day from Disney?

| I have family there and spent a couple of days at Thanksgiving after a 2004 Disney trip. Right off the coast there is Lido and Siesta Key (I think that's what they're called) and beautiful beaches. I think you would have a nice time. Somewhere around there is the winter home of Thomas Edison which I remember touring when I was in H.S. (a looooooooong time ago!).

| My son lives in Bradenton (Sarasota's twin city). We have been there often and we love it. You would adore the Ringling museum. The art museum is fabulous and the home is to die for (right on the water too). Gorgeous grounds! I took a ton of pictures. You probably would love Marie Selby botanical gardens too. We have been there several times and never get tired of it. The best is the view of the causeway over to St. Armand's Circle. Again, right on the water. Take a drive over the causeway to St. Armand's circle. Excellent shopping and dining there. Eat at the Columbia Restaurant (authentic Cuban). Drive north on Longboat Key (pretty drive) and then take in Anna Maria Island. Beaches are great. Makes a nice circle trip. Ringling, Marie Selby, St. Armand's Circle, drive up Longboat and Anna Maria Island. Cross the causeway back into Bradenton and take the freeway back to Orlando. Should be a nice trip for a day. PM me if you want more info. I have tons. Bigred
