What to do in the Port or surrounding area

My DH and are are sailing on the Magic 4/12 we will be in the port area on Friday and are looking for ideas besides Space Center and Ron Jon's. We will have a car and are willing to drive an hour or two. We both love to shop and see new things. Any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks

PS We are doing WDW day before and for 10 days after the cruise. I was thinking more coastal

A little further south is Merritt Island. There is the Blackpoint Wildlife Drive,a Info Center, some Walking trails and a Manattee viewing plattform.
Also Playalinda beach is wonderful.
We had a great day last time the day before our cruise.
Greetings from Germany

There is also the Archie Carr Wildlife Refuge right next door to the space center.
