KSC and launch

G'day! We will not have a car when we visit KSC is there any transportation between KSC and the Astronaut Hall of Fame? They look too far apart to walk!

Also we will be in WDW for the October 8 Space Shuttle Launch. Does anyone know of any tours/transport from WDW to the launch? I thought I read some where that lift-off is about 5.00am.

I don't know of any transportation from WDW to KSC but I'm sure you could arrange something through Mears or one of the other shuttle companies. We have tried a couple of times to see a launch and every time it has ended up being scrubbed at the last minute. So I hope you get to see this one!

I did a search online and found a few companies that do hotel pick-up and include tickets for the Causeway but none of them are advertising this launch yet. I was wondering if maybe NASA might be planning to shift the date so aren't releasing tickets. These companies have all sorts of rules about scrubbed launches and refunds but once I board that bus there is no refund even if they scrub the launch once we get there.

Well NASA are trying to change the launch date to 3:02:18 a.m. EDT on Oct. 5. They won't make an official announcement until mid-August. This is even better for me as we will still be in Cocoa Beach and I won't have to give up any WDW time.

Good Luck! I hope you get to see a launch. We always tried to schedule our trips around launches, but they were all scrubbed until after our trip. We did get to see a rocket launch from POR at WDW. Even being that far away it was impressive!!

You definitely can not walk between KSC and the hall of fame. Tour companies do usually do packages for the launch so it would be worth asking if you can also get to the hall of fame during the day. You might have to arrange your own cab to and from KSC to the hall but the tour companies should do the rest for you.

Astronaut Hall of Fame and the main Visitor's Center are 7 miles apart - definitely too far to walk. I have not seen companies advertising transportation between the two locations.
