| Is there a specific question about the Key Largo? I can tell you that the best place to stay in Key Largo is the Hilton Key Largo Resort, it had a private beach, great restaurant and was recently renovated. Also, Key Largo is the first island in the Keys. Let me know if you need anymore information, I'm a veteran due to us living in Miami. |

| I'd love some info as well, as we plan on staying the night here at the Holiday Inn on our drive down to Key West in December. ![]()

| Well, there's really not too much to see besides the gorgeous beaches. As you're traveling there will be little rest areas right on a beach that you can get out of the car and take a swim at. If you're lucky, you might see a Key Deer near the Hondas. There's jungle island in Miami and if you have the time you can stop at Theater of the Sea in Islamorada. There, you can swim with the dolphins and other marine life. |

| If your planning on staying at the Holiday Inn in the Keys, I would change hotels. Had a couple of friends stay there recently and they had to leave early due to the room being disgusting and the service was horrible. I would recommend staying at the Hilton Key Largo Resort in Key Largo or Drop Anchor Hotel and Marina in Islamorada. One beach I definitely would stop on the way down to Key West is Bahia Honda, it's beautiful...especially if you walk down to the left. Also, I would make a stop in Islamorada at Theater of the Sea, where you can see dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows, a guided tour of the marine life exhibit, lagoon-side beach and the bottomless boat ride. You can also swim with the dolphins, sea lions, or rays and go on a snorkel adventure cruise. While your at Islamorada the best place to eat is the Islamorada Fish Company. Once you get to Key West check out Fort Jefferson located at Dry Tortuga's National Park, Ernest Hemingway's House and check out the Ghost Tours of Key West. If you staying in Ft. Lauderdale, I would recommend staying at the Pelican Beach Resort. On your way down to the Keys make a stop in Miami and head to Parrot Jungle Island, Miami Sequarium, Vizcaya Museum and Garden or Monkey Jungle. Let me know if you need anymore information? |

At Key West I've booked The Sheraton Suites. It wil be fun to make a few stops on the way down and also on the way back to check out some of these other islands. Don't know about swiming with the Rays though ![]()

You can only get there by boat or sea plane. There are MANY charter services that will take you out there. Boat is the cheapest option but still will run you around $100+ per adult. The advantage to the boat is the boat carries food and drink. The Dry Tortugas are called "dry" because there is no source of fresh water. This is definitely something you need to be prepared for. It has FANTASTIC snorkeling and I do mean FANTASTIC. The corals are absolutely gorgeous, the wildlife is abundant and equally beautiful. I love this place. Love it, Love it, Love it. However, it's not a fly by the seat of your pants experience. I have to plan carefully for it. As a resident, I have to drive down the day before I am scheduled to go and stay the night I go and drive back the next day. It's a 3 day trip for a few hours. May not seem worth it, but it is a unique experience that not many people have gotten to enjoy. Be sure to get a charter that will feed you and keep you in beverages. Make sure to go to Publix and get yourself a cooler and pack it with food and drink. There is NO garbage service. What you bring it, you must bring out. Keep that in mind before packing messy stuff. | |
