| Panhandle suggestions Hi We're travelling in October and have 10 days planned/booked for WDW and surrounding area. The other 10 days we plan to travel to Pensacola to visit the National Museum of Naval Aviation and to nip over the state line to Alabama for a day. So I have a few questions
Thank

| Hi Alison! ![]() As far as the drive to Pensacola, I can't really think of anything or place along I-10 that is really one of those "NEED to stop and look" places. If you want to stay at the beach there (P-cola's beaches are great! Some of the best in FL!), there is a nice Hampton Inn out there as well as a great Hilton Garden Inn (we have stayed at both with my in-laws when they came to visit us while we were living there). Both are on the gulf and have access to the beach from the pool areas. Whenever my parents came to visit, they preferred to stay closer to us, so they stayed near I-10 at the Fairfield Inn (N. Davis Hwy.) As far as other I-10 area hotels go, there is a nice Holiday Inn Express at I-10 (exit 7, Pine Forest). None of those are too hard or long a drive to NAS Pensacola where the museum is. :When I shopped for scrapbooking things, I stuck to 3 places . . . . 1. Scrapdoodle --- 6235 N. Davis Hwy. in Pensacola. 2. Hobby Lobby --- across the parking lot from Scrapdoodle! 3. Joann Fabrics and Crafts SuperStore --- right down Davis Hwy. from the other 2. (In the Trade Winds Shopping Center with Wood You Furniture, TJ Maxx and Dollar General) We liked to drive the beach road (Perdido Beach Blvd.) every so often when we lived there (the in-laws liked to stay down the beach in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama sometimes too). It is also a pretty easy to get to drive from Pensacola Beach and other locations around Pensacola. Just get to Gulf Beach Highway and you are set! Let me know if there is anything else you want to know! It's been 2 1/2 years since I have lived there, but we lived there for 3 1/2 before we moved (and DH actually put in for orders to go back there . . . fingers crossed!) . . . Hope this helps!

| Sarah - Thankyou for the help on the hotels. It's much nicer if you are armed with information from locals before you go as you never know what areas to avoid. I shall certainly ensure I take the info with me. I'll have to make sure I "mis-navigate" when I check out the scrapbook shops. It will be a case of "Sorry I'm seem to be a bit lost can we pull in here. oh look dear, a scrapbook shop. As we are here now can I have a look" Actually DH will be always put my wishes and needs before himself. I have to remember not to take advantage of this too much I hope your DH get his orders he wishes for. Sue- I look forward to seeing what you suggest, thanks

| How about a mouse? Oh oh, where did the girls go? Even the elephants? Anyway....... In no order: I have never been out that way before to recommend hotels, etc., and I am sure someone will recommend a few. Before you leave England search these links: hotels motels inns lodging in near Pensecola FL - AOL Search Results cheap hotels motels inns lodging in near pensacola FL - AOL Search Results Scrapbooks shops, etc. Use this link scrapbook scrapbooking shops supplies items in Pensacola FL - AOL Search Resul Places to see use: attractions tourism things to do photos in Tallahassee FL - AOL Search Results After you click into each site go to the search engine (the long box at the top) and carefully delete the word Pensacola FL or Tallahassee FL, in the case (I used as a sample) of the last and type the city and state of the city you want to stop in. Press enter and brouse the various links. If you goof just retype the complete identification in the search engine. In this case you do not have to add/enter the word AOL Search Results. To ALL readers use these sites and, as above, change to the city and state that is of interest to you.
