| KSC question Hello, We are planning on going to the KSC on 11/16/09. They have a launch scheduled for 11/12/09. If for some reason they don't have the launch and say it gets moved to the date we want to go, is the park still opened for us to go in or will be need to be ticket holders for the launch only? I'm hoping it's goes on the 12th but I'm wondering if I should do an alternate schedule just in case. Any info on what they do on those days would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

| As far as I know, the park will be open on launch day, however, tours are cancelled and there are areas that are off limits. Security will also be tighter that day. If you are not planning to be there when the launch goes off, it's probably a good idea to have a Plan B!

| So I was in Washington DC on vacation this past week and received a call from the KSC saying they have rescheduled the launch to 11/16 -- the day I was going!!! We ended up cancelling becuase it's too much of a hassle to reschedule evertyhing. Plus what if I do switch it to 11/18 and the launch never goes off on the 16th but possibly the 18th? Nope...just going to stick to WDW all week. More time with the mouse!!!

| We're actually hoping they miss the 11/16-11/18 window. As I understand it, if they don't go by the 18th it gets postponed until December. We're going to be in Fla over Thanksgiving, and will go to KSC if there's a bird on the pad.

| KSC on launch day is not like any other visitor's day: from activities, tickets, tours, etc. If you want to visit KSC (a working space center - not an amusement park) without the hoopla of the launch, it is best to schedule your visit the weeks before the launch, not during the launch window. You get to see the shuttle on the pad, but aviod the 400000 people crowds. NASA VIP for STS-121, 4 July 2006 |

| That's why we just decided to skip. I don't want to get caught up changing plans or dealing with a crowd on launch day!

| DH would absolutely LOVE to see a launch up-close. If only there would be one Dec. 10th. THAT would be icing on a pretty impressive cake.
