Has anyone stayed there?

DH has asked that we stay at a resort on the main beach in Clearwater this time and most of them are out of our price range.

This resort is reasonable so I was thinking of giving it a try even though it only has yucky double beds and I'll have to haul the twin size areobed with us (anybody know of a good light brand? Our current one is awful to haul around) since DH and DS14 won't fit together in a double bed anymore.

We are going for Thanksgiving weekend which is why we are going back to Clearwater Beach instead of choosing another beach. We've gone several times during Thanksgiving weekend in the past and the weather was just wonderful.

If you have any better suggestions for resorts, pass them along. The only place we've ever stayed at there is the Quality Inn and they aren't on the main beach and barely have any beach left at all despite what their pictures show on their website.

Oh and we don't want to stay at Shepards Resort. The whole party atmosphere there is a big turn off for us. It's way too noisy on Friday/Saturday nights. Plus, we went to their Thanksgiving Buffet one year and it was awful.

We stayed at The Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach and liked it. St Petersburg Hotels | St Pete Beach Resorts | Sirata Beach Resort, St. Pete's, Florida They have queen beds. We actually booked on Hot Wire for a 3 star in St. Pete Beach, and this was what we got, for a pretty good price!
We spent 2 nights there Aug 08 pre-WDW vacay for a stop over!

I waited too long to book and couldn't find anyplace with the room type we wanted on Clearwater Beach so I checked out the Sirata Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach.
They had Beachfront Rooms available and the resort looks really nice so I booked it. And got a 25% discount which makes me happy.

Now I just have to find someplace open to eat on Thanksgiving Day. Hopefully that will be easy.

Hope you like it. We had a nice stay. Ask for the beach cabana package when you check in. They are worth it IMO. There are lots of restaurants, I'm sure the hotel can give you recommendations for Thanksgiving dinner. For a casual dinner Crabby Bills was walking distance.
