KSC schedule / lunch with astronaut Q

We're thinking of doing a day at KSC during our next Florida trip, and DH wants to do Lunch with an Astronaut.
It's at noonish. For those of you who have done this, how does it impact your bus tour plans.
I don't see that you can do the bus tour and see everything before lunch. How did you do it?
Can you do the first stop (ISS building?) before lunch, take the bus back, then do the rest of the loop after eating?

I know there's some information in this thread:

Lunch with an Astronaut

...but I'm not sure if it's what you need.

I think you could plan to do some of the other things in the morning (like the Imax theater, memorial and the rocket garden, etc) and then do an afternoon tour. If memory serves me correctly, the tour is about 2 hours long.

We did Lunch with an Astronaut and it was great! We were only able to do one other tour that day. There is too much to see. Plus my kids were 9 and 5 so maybe we were slowed down a bit. We did get an annual pass and went back that summer to do another tour and the IMAX movie. And we still haven't seen everything! My DS wnats to go back to finish the last tour and go to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. What was great about the annual pass was that it gave you discounts on food and at the gift shop. If you don't have time for the lunch, you can always do the shorter Astronaut Encounter. That was pretty good too and that one doesn't cost anything extra like the lunch. We did that twice. The guest astronaut usually tells a little about his life and opens it up for questions.
Have fun.

When I went the ticket allowed for 2 days. So if that's still the case, you could go back the next day to do what you didn't get around to.
