I went back to look at the layouts I posted in the 07 challenges. I used ink on all of them (and all the ones posted in the January 08 challenge too ). I can't remember the last layout I did that I didn't use ink on. So, you can use it on any type of layout. While I do have a few pads that are not brown or black, I mostly use them to put color on chipboard letters or embelishments. But as Dawn said, they are great for additional color on things you want to enhance. I also have some metallic ink pads and they too can be used for a bit of additional color on photo mats, edges of layouts or chipboard pieces.
