I just got back from a couple nights at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. I wish that I could have gotten better sunset pictures as we had a fantastic view, but unfortunately the screen was in the way. But here it is. Also the red is more of a dark pink purple color too.
Allison, beautiful pictures! I am amazed at how different your view was at different times of the day. Love the flag and how you did your journaling on it.
Mauimouse, that background paper is so pretty and goes so well with your photos. Love the sun die cut too. Looking at your page makes me wish I was there right now to see that beautiful sunset.
Since I am trying to work on the scrapbook of our June trip to WDW, I decided to scrap the pictures of our visit to 'Ohana.
The 'Ohana page has one of about five pictures out of five hundred taken on the trip where I am actually in it (as I am always behind the camera) with my family. It cracks me up that I am the only one smiling for the camera as Grumpy looks like he is posing for a mug shot, Peter Pan looks like he is about to fall of his chair, or is attempting to do the dreaded "one cheek sneak", and Kiara, who at this point in the trip was tired of having her picture taken, is doing the "talk to the hand, as I'm not posing for another picture" pose.
Once we got to the table, the photo ops didn't get much better. When I attempted to take a picute of Grumpy, he stuffed a piece of bread up his nose (which was a great waste of that wonderful pineapple bread, IMHO), and Kiara fell fast asleep between dinner and desert. But at least after she woke up from her nap, I was able to get one good picture of her and Peter Pan.
I used the paper umbrellas from our Lapu Lapu's on both pages. And, the cute tiki Mickey stickers were a gift from a Passporter friend, that showed up out of the blue on my doorstep, along with an bunch of other wonderful scrapbooking stuff. again H.M. I've said it before, but I will say it again, Passpoters ROCK!
Alison, I like how you had the day/night view showcased on your page, as well as the subtle journaling on the flag.
Mary, the background paper and sun die cut are wonderful on your page. Lately, I find I'm really drawn to paper with stripes.
Nala, I love all of the embellishments on your pages, especially the umbrellas from your drinks. You always have the best background stories about the pictures on your pages. Is that Basic Grey paper you used on your pages? It is really pretty.
