| I know this isn't really about scrapbooking, but I figured this board would be full of Passporters with the most experience in such things, so I thought I'd ask here! I need to make a stencil that will cover the center of a 3x8 foot table. This is the logo I want to use: ![]() (Bonus points to my Boston peeps who recognize it! )1. What kind of materials do you need to make a stencil? We have a Michael's craft store to get supplies. 2. How do you get said logo transferred onto the stencil at the appropriate size? 3. How big would you recommend I make the logo? I want it to be directly in the center of the table, with possibly 3 inches from the top of the cupcake to the edge of the table, and likewise for the crossbones to the bottom edge. 4. I'm planning on spray painting the table black, and the stencil hot pink. Should I paint the table first, and then the stencil? Or vice/versa? 5. Am I out of my mind?! ![]() Thanks in advance for any help y'all can give me. And if you have any suggestions or comments, please don't hesitate to share your knowledge!

| I've seen stencil making kits at Michael's! I believe they were in the isle with the craft paints. I've never used one before, but I'm sure there are instructions in the package. I would paint the table black first, then add the pink stencil. But depending on the pink paint you use, you may have to do several coats to entirely cover the black.

| Hey Molly! You can get a stencil making kit, but quite honestly you can do it with cardboard. to do this on the cheap I would advise painting the table black first then tracing the shape onto the table with a light colored pencil (like a white eyeliner), remove the shape you traced and then free hand the shape with a regular--small-- paint brush. Otherwise if you are going to use spray paint for the stencil it may not come out as neat--fuzzy on the edges if you don't make sure your stencil is taped down REALLY well. As for size, I have no idea.

| Another suggestion is blowing it up on a copier and then cutting it out of posterboard with an exacto knife. To get it really big you might have to blow it up in sections and then sort of paste the sections together before you cut it from the posterboard. I would definitly paint the table first and then the stencil over it. You might need several coats depending on the type of paint you use. I would also be prepared to go over the edges with a fine paint brush incase it bleeds under you stencil a bit.
