Question Question for digital scrapbookers

In addition to creating your own backgrounds or downloading kits, how else do you get your "papers". Do you scan in "papers"? I was thinking of doing this but didn't know if it works the same. I have some really nice patterns (expecially disney ones) that I think would look great digital as well but wasn't sure if scanning them would work the same.
