I think I have been scrapbooking for maybe 7 years or so. A fellow PassPorter got me interested in scrapbooking shortly after Archiver's opened in the Twin Cities. I tagged along to a Creative Memories crop with her and have never looked back. In that time I have collected an embarrassing amount of paper, stickers, embellishments, Cricut cartridges, tools etc. I now have an entire room devoted to scrapbooking (and sewing which is my other passion ). But I always remind my DBF that there could be much worse things that I spend my money and time on.
About 10 years ago I sold Stampin'Up! When they started getting into scrapbooking, I was forced to make some examples. I was soon hooked on scrapbooking. I rarely have time to do it anymore, but I still like to "collect" stuff. Ironic how the three kids have given more so much more to scrapbook--and so much less time! Before I left SU! I used my discount to buy years' worth of their cardstock (still my favorite!). I got a cricut about 3 years ago.

You should join us PPs who live in the Twin Cities area sometime for scrapbooking. We get together every couple of months or so and have our big meet in late Sept or early October at MOA. It is a great chance to scrap as most of us are too busy to do much as home.
I've been scrapbooking since 1996. I'm finding recently that I'm feeling less inspired. I just finished our family album for 2007, so I've decided to go digital. I hope that it will (eventually) move faster than paper scrapbooking and will be a new challenge for me.
I'll keep all my supplies, though, so I can still do books for vacations and other special occasions "the old fashioned way"

I guess I've been a scrapbooker since I was in high school (class of 1979). I remember collecting everything from my senior year and putting it in a scrapbook. Still have that book too! Gosh. . . that means I've been scrapbooking for over 30 years (now I feel really old).
I started with our May 2004 trip, so I guess I started sometime later this year. It makes me laugh when I think back to how long it took me to do my first page - we are talking weeks!
I have been scrapping for over 15 years. I even have a room to house my collection of scrapping things. I do wish actually used it. Things have been so crazy with fun stuff to actually scrap, that I haven't been able to actually get in there and make it happen.
I tried paper scrapping in 2005 - bought hundreds of dollars worth of supplies. But since I had to do my scrapping at the same table we ate at, I got tired of dragging everything out, cutting photos (eep!! ), getting maaaaaybe one page done, and then having to pick everything up and put it away before I made dinner. So I still have only about 8 pages done from our Dec 2004 trip. And that's it.
I started digiscrapping in February last year because I wanted to make a photobook of my daughter's wedding as a Christmas gift for family members. Now I'm a digiscrapping machine. I got her book done and I am currently working on photos from our Nov/Dec '10 vacation. I've been asked to be on a creative team for a great digi kit designer, I do a little (very little) designing myself and I am a moderator on a digital scrapping message board. I've been doing about 3 pages a day. Yesterday I did 5. I'll bet I will never finish that paper scrapbook.

Donna, you could always finish those remaining pages to your book digitially and then have the layouts printed to put in the paper album you worked on. That way, you can complete it with your new style!

Good luck going digital! It is much faster. I've done some quick books for my family on Shutterfly, but haven't actually tried true digital scrapbooking.

It still takes me weeks sometimes to do a page. Some days I get a lot done, and other days I just am not very inspired. I can't wait to see your album of your most recent trip to Egypt.

You've become a scrapping machine! The pages you have posted are beautiful. Digital is definitely the way to go for you.
The very first scrapbook (or more like memory book) I did was when I went from Middle school to High School (1990) But I really didn't get into scrapbooking until after college, and especially after I took a trip to Florida with friends in 2002. I've been scraping ever since and I love it! It's fun to look back on those old scrapbooks, and see how far I've come.
