Build-a-Pin What do you think of Disney's new concept...Build-a-Pin? We just got back from WDW and was there for the opening day...got an opening day pin of course, but I'm not sure of the whole concept. The base pins is the same as others, approx. $6.50 and then you build on with $2 builders a pop. What do you think about it?

Re: Build-a-Pin The bases are pretty large (like 2x2, I think) and have holes to put 2-4 small pins in. The ones I saw were the Tree of Life, a grouping of 3 red hearts, the Castle, a frame style. The things you add are very small, like the size of a small fingernail and included things like the princesses, Mickey, Minnie, other well-known characters, park symbols, etc. The small pins don't have a back and have a very small point, so you can't buy and use them separately. They fit into the holes of the large pieces and have a smaller point that seems to hold them in place next to their main point. Hard to describe. I'm sure they'll start showing up on some of the pin sites soon, so you'll be able to see pictures. The only place I saw these was Pin Central at Downtown Disney. -HiddenMickey

Re: Build-a-Pin I saw them when I was down there, but I didn't reall like them too much. The add on pins were too small and there were too many choices that you would need to build numerous pins just to get all you want. I am sure I will grow to like them over time...I take a while to get adjusted to such novelties.

Re: Build-a-Pin I love mine. I made mine 2 nights before we left (last week). I chose the one with the hearts and added on the bride minnie and the groom mickey and had our wedding date engraved on it. I love it, although I did become quite addicted to pins on our trip.
