Best way to clean stamps?

Hi everyone -
As those of you on the Christmas card list will soon see, I have started using my little collection of Christmas stamps! They are the wooden base, rubber design type that you buy at craftshops like JoAnn's - how's the best way to clean them? I have been scrubbing with warm water, but I'm afraid to really scrub because I don't want to loose any detailing...

Re: Best way to clean stamps?

I bought a really cool thing at Archiver's called the Double Stamp Scrubber and a little spray bottle of stamp cleaner. You spray one side of the scrubber with the cleaner, then rub your stamp on it so it "suds" up a bit, then you rub it on the dry side. There are little fibers that really get in there and clean them up, even the ones DDs have abused. Here's a link to one online: http://www.stampin.com/online/accs/miscacc.htm#scrubber

Re: Best way to clean stamps?

I’ve used baby wipes for years on my stamps. Just make sure you get the kind without alcohol because alcohol will dry out the rubber.

Both methods work great. If you're just using stamps for Christmas cards I would go with the baby wipes.

Re: Best way to clean stamps?

I have used window cleaner and that works great. I'm sure it is not the best for the rubber though!! Usually warm water and a little soap works for me, if it doesn't that's when I use the window cleaner.
