I'd choose the YC for Stormalong Bay

I've stayed at both.

I choose for Boardwalk for the cheerful room decor (our room was also the most quiet we've ever had). We also had a standard room that faced Epcot and we could see some of Illuminations.

YC has a more exciting pool and that is a major draw for many. The BWI pool works for us. The slide is awesome and it was rarely as busy as Stormalong Bay.

We have reservations at the YC for May. The pool is the big draw as well as the close proximity to Epcot.

BWI. Stormalong Bay can get too crowded. 2 minute walk to Boardwalk Bakery is a nice plus

BWI for me. Stayed there, had an EPCOT view with an amazing view of Illuminations and the Eiffel Tower and Spaceship Earth from the balcony. It was quiet, and the room was large and cheerful!

The room service was quite reasonable and generous, the location was unbeatable, and the Boardwalk Bakery and Spoodles Pizza Window were out of this world!

I've heard awesome things about Stormalong Bay, but the BWI pool suited me fine, and wasn't at all crowded!

YC. Parking at the BWI/BWV can be a hassle.

I have stayed at the Villas at both; depending on whether you're hooked on the pool or not is the difference for me. I spend at least one full day (regardless of crowds) at Stormalong Bay -- we've rarely felt overwhelmed by people there, even where there have been many; and often we'll spend a few additional hours some mornings or afternoons at the pool as well before or after hitting the parks.
Boardwalk also has a great pool -- the clown slide is wonderful, but not equal to Stormalong Bay.
Both hotels are marvelous!
