We'll be going to WDW for our third time next year. The first time, we split our stay between SoG and Polynesian concierge. The second time, it was Polynesian with two nights at POR before/after our FTW.
We'll be booking our next trip this week, and was asking DH which resort we should stay in. DS would like to try the Grand Floridian. I am partial to WL or YC/BC and rather enjoyed POR and would like to try POFQ. DD would like to try the Contemporary.
How do I convince DH that variety is a good thing?!?! He insists that Polynesian is best for proximity to MK and ease of transportation. I love the Polynesian, but I don't want to stay there every time!
Any suggestions for helping him gain a little flexibility? (Other than pouting? )
Hmmm. I'm not sure I am much help, because I agree with your husband! I love the Poly. However, the Contemporary and Grand Floridian is just as convenient as far as transportation, and the Contemporary is even more so, since you can walk to MK. So that argument of his doesn't really work.
How about splitting your stay...a few days at Beach or Yacht Club, and then a few days at the Poly? That way you are trying something new, and he still gets what he wants.

I also think you should split your trip and stay where you want for part and where he want's for part. I'd suggest BC and Poly. The BC will be a little less expensive and will give you direct access to Epcot and MGM. He should appreciate that. Good Luck!
I'd say split between BC and Poly. Of course you have the great location to both MGM and Epcot, but you can really play up the pool area at BC. Also, play up the hot tubs because Poly doesn't have one. But, I know what he means, Poly is really wonderful! It's just nice to try something new.
Thank you everyone! I think a split stay at BC/Polynesian would be perfect, now that you mention it! I'll have to play up the super pool area and the hot tubs! He loves a good soak in the spa!
We do spend a lot of time at Epcot WS, so the proximity could be played up, too.
We visited BC/YC on our last trip, for a meet at B&C, and he liked the pool area and the common areas well enough.
We could do the first five days at BC and the last five days at Polynesian, so he can top off this trip at his favorite resort!
I agree, not a bad rut to be stuck in. I like variety, too, though. Worse comes to worse, I can hold the pouting in reserve.
Thank you again!
