HELP! We may have to downgrade hotels from BC to a moderate. Help me decide which moderate.

Im so sad. In order to keep my disney trip in Nov I may have to do some number crunching and do disney on a budget. (The bad economy has affected DH business).
So we stayed at the BC last year and I did a bounceback for this year. I LOVED THE BC. It was all I hoped and the LOCATION was perfect. We ate in EPCOT almsot every night. Its my favorite park. Anyway, I can still use my bb discount on a moderate hotel.

Important to us is ease to get to the parks. I also would like a nice pool and of course nice rooms. We r travelling with 11 and 3 year old.

There is a chance that grandma might come and then we would need for 3 adults.
Help!!

My favorite mod was POR. The rooms were nice, the main pool and bar were great, and we enjoyed the food court. They would also be the only rooms to sleep 5, with the pull out trundle, if grandma came along.

I don't think any of the Moderates can handle 5 in a room (POR has a trundle bed, but that's for smaller children. How about a suite at All Stars?

I've only been to POFQ and CBR and of those two, CBR was my favorite. The rooms were larger, fresher, and brighter. The pool is great and they have a beach with hammocks. It's very close to Epcot, but not within walking distance. The grounds are also very nice.

The CSR has a great pool-not sure if you can fit 5 people in one room.

POR should work since if you are a party of 5, one of them will be small enough for the trundle bed. The pool there is very nice and they have the boat to DtD, along with both a QS and TS restaurant. I didn't get to see it, but apparently the entertainment in the lounge is great.

I personally like POFQ a tad bit better, but sounds like POR would be better for your family.

I know CSR has queen beds - not sure if they have any rooms that accomodate 5 people. I do know that a lot of people really love this resort.

POR works with 5 (there's a trundle bed).

POFQ is my favorite moderate resort.

Coronado has rooms that can sleep 6. I hear it is a nice moderate resort. We were going to stay there, but the week we are going there is a conference there at that resort. And there were no rooms available. Now we are at a value resort, we to needed to down grade.

Only the suites would work for 5 or more people at Coronado. My family loves Coronado though. Wonderful resort! For the 4 of you 1 room at the Coronado would work great. The resort doesn't share buses with any other so it would save some time. The queen beds are great! If grandma comes you could do Port Orleans to save money by getting just the one room for 5.

CBR is a great choice and I think they have the best bus service and are the most central to the parks. If you stay in Martinique, you can even see Spaceship Earth and Illuminations on a clear night.

Thanks everyone. It is good to hear more about the hotels. I looked at the resorts on the wdw website. According to that, I liked the caribean (CBR?) the best. I like the beach/hammock theme and the food court (that would be one thing better than BC, the food court there is not to great). and the location to epcot.

The coronado looks nice too but it seems out of the way,, we dont do AK too much, only one morning for EE and the safari (and want to try sanaa).

Location of PO seems ok near DTD (could get alot of good CS there) but kids and DH not crazy about the tom sawyer there and DD did not like the serpant looking things and the pool (shes only 3). heard good things about the beignets though the rooms looked nice at PQFQ.
What to do about Grandma? Maybe she can bring a friend and they can have their own room.......
Are the all star resort suites nice? i just heard that they are very crowded and long walks to buses and food etc. Which would be fine when DD is older.
thanks for allinput and looking forward to more...

If you add another adult, your only moderate choice would be POR-Alligator Bayou.

Did you think about splitting your trip and doing a less expensive resort first and then doing a couple of the days at BC still? That's what I'd do.

Can you still purchase the dining plan if you split your hotel? That might be a good idea. Maybe Grandma can go visit one of her friends in Florida and then meet up with us for the last 3 days I will call the wdw line and see what my options are. thx, (DD will not do well in alligator bayou, she has a thing about alligators. We live in PA so its easy to tell her that alligators live very far from us!!)
