We are adding two extra nights to our 10 night stay at WL in June. Since we are paying OOP we would like to stay at a moderate resort. We stayed at CBR 5 years ago and loved it. We've never stayed at POFQ. I originally wanted to stay close to DTD, but now I'm not sure if that matters. What would you do?
I would choose POFQ. We've stayed there a few times, and CBR twice (just got back from our second stay there). I enjoy both resorts, but CBR is so spread out, I just feel like it's easier to be embraced by POFQ. (Sorry that probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but I can't think how else to describe it.) I also love the boats from POFQ to DTD, so that would be a big factor for me. I had actually tried for POFQ on our last stay, but we were doing free dining and I booked pretty late so it was not available there.
I like both resorts equally, but give POFQ just one extra nudge due to its compact size. I think what it mostly comes down to is what sort of theme/atmosphere are you looking for? You already know CBR is peaceful and relaxing. Flowers everywhere, and those beaches! POFQ is peaceful too, in its own right. And there's a quaintess about FQ that's appealing as well. Truly a tough decision as they're both excellent resorts - again, ask the fam what theme they like better!

I have only stayed at POFQ, but it is my favorite resort. The boat ride to DTD is sooo much fun, the rooms were renovated about a year ago, and the resort is small and quiet and lots of fun.
Liz-I'm staying at POFQ in May so I know that doesn't really help but. . .Lily approved it because it still has a little bit of cartoonish to it (her words). She hated Animal Kingdom Lodge, I know, I know she's crazy but. . .I vote POFQ!
We have stayed at both (just hubby and I) and we love POFQ. We just didn't feel the same Disney Magic at CBR. We thought that the fact that it was so big would be a plus, but we didn't really enjoy it. We didn't feel that there was anything special about it. I must admit though that the main pool was undergoing some construction. I don't believe it was closed, but we really only used the pool near our room and not the main pool.
POFQ was just so quaint and we loved it. We want to try all the Mods, but we have a feeling that POFQ will always be our favorite.
Great choice! POFQ is our favorite Mod. It's got great themeing, and the pool is great. It's smaller than the rest of the mods.... I could go on and on.
I am HOMESICK for POFQ. We stayed there last September for 9 nights and just had a wonderful time. Everyone keeps using the word "quaint" and they are right -- it just has a very special feel to it. It may not matter, but we were in Bldg 4 and I thought it was perfect. Short walk to the bus stop, short walk to the food court, short walk to the laundry, and short walk to the pool. I was concerned about noise because of the close proximity to everything, but it was never an issue. I hope you have a wonderful stay!

Im in the minoirity, I stayed at POR in Sept of 2010 and never again. I missed my CBR so much that half way through I almost asked to switch but I wanted to give it a fair shake. I listened to everyone here who LOVED POR and I hated it. It really depends on taste. I love the theming at CBR so much. I am very much a caribbean-type girl. I like hearing the steel drum music walking over the bridge to Old Port Royale, ect. I didn't like the boats to DTD at POR they take forever. Some could say relaxing, it was just meh. And heaven forbid there's a tired child on there with you that the parents INSIST on dragging shopping. The bus transportation was a nightmare. For some reason, we had to share buses with French quarter so we NEVER got a seat because it was always full. Its a gorgeous resort, but its not the Caribbean feel at all. And that's what I like. So when I booked my bounce back last week, I went for Old Key West. Same feel. I'm also not one that could ever stay at Contemp or GF. Not my style So maybe I'm just weird. LOL.
