Question A Grocery Question

Hi Everyone,
My husband and I are staying at Old Key West resort in September (hooray!). We are using Magical Express to get to the resort. Our question is- what is the best way to have a case of bottled water delivered to our room? We usually stop at a grocery store or Costco and pick up the stuff we need. Since we can't do that for this trip, what is the least expensive way to get groceries delivered?
Thanks so much!

Some folks have ordered from Staples and said their price was good. Garden Grocer delivers, but I think they have a minimum, so that might not be cost-effective if you only want one case of water. Garden Grocer

If you just need water, you may want to consider Brita personal water bottles with filters instead, or a Brita pitcher and plain water bottles, which is what we used on our last trip. Brita Bottle Aqua: The Brita Water Filter Bottle — Drinking Water

The delivery stores all have a $ minimum so I don't think you can order just 1 case of water

If you really want bottled water and have a little free time, you can head over to DTD and walk across the street to the Hess and buy it there.

I use a Brita bottle myself.

Yes, if folks have a way to stop at one of the three Hess Stations in WDW, you can get decent prices on canned sodas and bottled water.

According to their website, the minimum order is $40.

There's a notice stating that delivery is free for orders of over $200, clearly implying that there is an additional fee for delivery for orders between $40 and $200.

And finally, they are currently charging a fuel surcharge of $1.99 per delivery, until gas prices drop back under $3/gallon.

I disagree. On their FAQ page where it asks "Is there a delivery charge?" it states that it's $12, with no charge for orders over $200. To me, that means it's $12 for any order from $40 to $200. If there was an additional charge (other than the $1.99 fuel surcharge), I think it would be stated in the answer to that question. Otherwise, that's being pretty sneaky, plus I think someone would've posted about it.

Karen ... how is your answer materially different from mine, other than having the specific amount for the delivery charge?

Thus, exactly what part of my post are you disagreeing with ...??

When you visit the webpage for the Garden Grocer there is a box that states "
Due to the rise in gas prices, we are introducing a temporary fuel surcharge of $1.99 effective immediately. We apologize for this inconvenience, and look forward to removing this fee once gas prices return to under $3.00 a gallon.". There is a $12 free for orders under $200 and the minimum order is $40.

If you are only wanting a case of water I would take the bus to DTD and walk over to Hess.

I have used Garden Grocer twice now and am very pleased with their service. We get water, bananas, breakfast items, baby stuff, snacks etc........even booze.
My order is always there before I get there and all I have to do is call GS and they bring it right over. Great service from all parties.

Thanks so much everyone- I think using a grocery delivery service is the way we'll go. We are adding more food items to our list as we are planning, so we'll definitely get to $40! And it's cheaper than using a town car service and stopping at a grocery store ourselves. I appreciate all your help!

......

....why don't they just say...."until the end of time...you're getting a fuel surcharge...and don't be surprised if we raise it too.".

.....I almost spewed coffee all over my keyboard

You ordered booze from GG? I didn't think they did that. Hmmm...now I have to decide between them & we go shop.
