Has anyone brought their Keurig to their resort at WDW? We got my mom one for her birthday this month and I wonder if she'd want to bring it to our resort.
Not sure where you're staying, but many of the resorts have upgraded to the Cusinart POD machines. They have 2 sides, so can brew 2 cups at a time. The coffee pods are Cusinart, not the dreaded nescafe. So a step up.
We fly so I just suck it up and use whatever Disney has in my room!! Don't want to use valuable packing space on a coffee maker! Not to mention how luggage is handled!
I have friends who take their Keurig Mini with them (one even keeps it in their Owner's Locker.)
If coffee is that important, I say take it, especially if you're driving.
....I like good coffee (and have a Keurig at home)...but if I had to lug it on a plane...the bulk of it...plus the chance it'd get banged around and broken...would have me learning to love Nescafe` for a week or so. Heck...it's a vacation...I'd see it as an adventure...and embracing the "native culture & foods"
We just bring Via instant packs from Starbucks. They are really good and you can't tell it's "instant" coffee. We just use the coffee maker in the room to make hot water and then have those or hot tea. I don't think it would be worth it to lug the coffeemaker every time. I would leave it in an Owners Locker if I had one though.
I agree with the person who said, I love my Keurig but not enough to lug it to WDW. But, different strokes, there wouldn't be any harm in it. Go for it if you have the room to take it!
I wouldn't risk it getting banged around. I just go and buy the maxwell house filter packs and use them in the little coffee pots that all of the resorts have these days. their coffee that they give you is a little like watered dirt, but those filter packs are very convenient and much better than lugging your own pot. PLUS, if a lot of people are drinking coffee, the Keurig cups are very expensive and you'd have to pack a few boxes of those especially if anyone wants more than one cup a day! There's an extra $35 easy! I think the maxwell house packs are about $7 and there are 10 in a can. They make full pots. I still have a couple that I brought home from my last trip.
Since we drive, space is not so much an issue. We have one of the Keurig minis that we take whenever we travel.... last year, with the 7 adults that traveled in our group...our room always had a line in the mornings for coffee!

Yes, yes she does!
I have a Mini with its carrying case that also holds a couple boxes of K-cups (i put them in large ziplocks that fit better around the brewer) though with the Ekobrew reusable cup I can use regular ground coffee, too. It's worth it to me to take it when we are driving. I could use the case as a carry-on on a plane, but if I am flying I'm likely not going to be staying as long anyway, so it's unlikely, but you never know!

Thanks for all the input, as usual! We do drive, so it's a bit more of a realisitc option. But still may not be worth it. We'll see when the times comes, I guess! ...which is in 37 days!!
Well, I didn't want to tattle on you, Larry -- not unless you were willing to be outed as a Keurig snob!
(And I say that with all the jealousy I maintain for your Keurig Mini! Someday, I want to be just like you!)
I was going to ask "isn't that &Larry?" that has the Keurig? I've read in his post and Princess Sharon's posts that he breaks out his Keurig for a quick cuppa.
The Cusinart Pod system (similar to the Keurig) worked fine in the room at Port Orleans. On a side note though, my sister did bring an extra 12 cup coffee maker because with three adults we drink a lot of coffee in the morning and did not know they had switched to the pod system. We used both. I fly, she drives, so toting the coffee maker for her was not a big deal. For me, when traveling without her, I will use the Cusinart as the coffee they leave for you is much better than the stuff in the restaurants!
