I noticed on Disney's reservation site that you can now reserve an accessible room with 1 king and 1 double bed. This is awesome for us since we are a family of 4 with 2 growing boys (double beds are just too crowded now).

I want this room for the extra bed space and the shower set up: seat to sit on, no tub to step over and a removable shower head. My son has some special needs and this would be a great help.

Has anyone seen this set up? Are the bed "thisclosetogether" or are the rooms slightly bigger to accommodate the beds? We only sleep in the room and don't care if the room is small. And, although my son uses an adult stroller in the parks we don't need the space for him to roll around in the room - he can walk.

I'd really like to see a picture but I haven't been able to find his info on any other Disney site.

I haven't heard of this but my first thought right away is does the room have the accessible shower? Normally the rooms that have the accessible shower only have the one bed because the entire bathroom is bigger thus making the bed area smaller. Like I said though, I haven't heard of this so I don't know but you may want to call Disney and specifically ask about it.

Could you show us a link to where Disney's website shows that type of room? I've not heard of it either and wonder what resort it could be. I can't figure out where they could fit that configuration.

We always request a room with an accessible shower and it always just has a king bed, there is no room for another bed at all. They might be able to put two doubles, it would be tight though. I am really curious about this as well.

I do see listed in the Deluxe resorts accessible rooms with one King bed and one daybed. The daybed is even smaller than the double bed. I don't know if these come with roll in showers though. We have only stayed at Pop Century and they have both times given us the accessible room with the roll in shower and the adjoining room next to it. We may have just gotten lucky though with this, my son is special needs also and the roll in shower works best with him as well as the larger room since he tends to be more anxious in tighter spaces. I do like the fact that you can now search for accessible rooms though, that is a great plus for the site.

I know you can get accessible 1-bedroom Villas. Those have the king in the bedroom and then a sofa that converts to a double bed.
A room with 2 beds that is still accessible would be wonderful for families! We used to have to either get two connecting rooms or just make do.

After looking further, I see exactly what you are talking about in some of the value resorts. They do list 1 King bed and one double bed in an accessible room with a roll-in shower but the description of the room does not really describe a roll in shower. I would definitely verify that to be sure. Now it is not listed at Pop Century that way as an option and actually says you need to call for that kind of room, so not sure about the size of the room. I am curious about the room size and layout of those rooms, would be nice if we could find pictures or a blueprint.

We have encountered a roll-in shower in a preferred room at Music, but the beds were definitely doubles, not king. The closet had almost disappeared to accommodate the larger bathroom, and with the ECV, we didn't do a lot of walking around, but my husband loved the security of being able to sit and shower.

The last two times we had an "accessible" room, there was a tub in the bathroom with bars but not the roll-in, so I would be very specific about your son's needs and even then, I don't think they can guarantee a particular room. Check in early the day you arrive, and reconfirm by phone about 3 days in advance, emphasizing that you really need the accessible bathroom. They have been very helpful changing our room to make sure we had first floor, even at check-in.

Did anyone ever call Disney to see if this such room even exists? It still doesn't exactly sound possible to me but with Disney, you never know.

I found this thread doing a search for exactly this type of room! We are booked for an accessible room at POP with 1 king and 1 double (roll in shower) in November, but I cant find any type of photo or blue print. I am super curious as to the look/layout of the room. Does anyone have new information?

The new room design going in at the Polynesian will include new rooms with King beds that can be booked and some of them will be accessable rooms. It would have a king bed and the standard day bed that is a twin size.

I can not find any information online about a room with King AND Double bed at WDW anywhere. Someone did say that the website might be worded incorrectly, that it meant King or Double (not AND).

It would be nice if someone that actually reserves and stays in one would post pictures and a report after their trip.

These rooms are suppose to be at the Value resorts, not the Poly

Granted things may have changed but back when I booked our trip, I asked about it and I was told that such an animal does exist - that they do have a room with both a king bed and a double bed. I didn't book it because as much I like our togetherness at Disney, that's a little too much togetherness for me.

There will be a few buildings at the Polyensian with King beds added during this refurbishment. All with have the day bed and some will be accessable rooms. I have seen the construction plans for every building
