We absolutely love the BWI & BWV. We enjoy the location atmosphere and feel of the whole boardwalk area. The one thing I would make certain of is that if you do not need an accessible room that you specify that you do not want to be in one. We were assigned an accessible room despit the fact that we did not need one and unfortunately the shower was not enjoyable other than that no complaints. One thing we love is iced coffee which for some reason is a mystery for Disney lol. What has worked great for us is that when we returned to the Boardwalk in the afternoon we would take our refillable mugs and order a coffee for the Boardwalk bakery let it sit out then put it in the fridge for morning! Enjoy your stay at the Boardwalk!!!!!

I was wondering about the drink refill stations. We are using the quick service meal plan and will be getting the refillable mugs. Thanks for the great tips !

There are no self serve drink stations like you would see at the Contempo Cafe, Captain Cook's or Gasparilla's Grill & Games. For example at the Boardwalk Bakery, Seashore Sweets, Boardwalk Pizza Window, Boardwalk Joes and Belle Vue Lounge where you do get refills this is what you do. You show the Cast Members working there your mug and they give you a drink of your choice in a paper cup. For health reasons they are not allowed to refill the mugs themselves.

You need to show the mug itself because not everyone staying at the BWI/BWV is on the Dining Plan and their Key To The World cards won't mention it. So the way I see it having guests show their mugs make it easy for everyone to follow the same rule when getting a refill.

We stayed at BWV in 2009 and loved it. The only negative thing was that the interior hallways are very long. We walked seemingly forever after getting off the elevator to finally get to our room. You may want to request a villa closer to the elevator. We loved having coffee on the balcony in the morning and watching the friendship boats. We also enjoyed Jellyrolls (21 and over) dueling Piano Bar. That was a fun night. I also got bakery items one morning for the family. Having a BW view was beautiful, if a bit noisy late at night when the bars closed. It didn't bother my exhausted family, but it did wake me up a few times. Enjoy your trip. It is a beautiful resort!

The sound was why we did not book a Boardwalk view- we are light sleepers.
Thanks for the tip about being close to the elevator, I will request it.

Love the BI. One of our favorite resorts. Love it in the morning when you can walk the boardwalk and just "be". Love the entertainment at night--magician, jugglers, etc. One of my favorite things to do is grab a slice of pizza at the Spoodles window and people watch at night. Oh, then there's always the arcade down at the end. :-)

BWV is always on the top of our list when we're making reservations. On our last trip we stayed in a room that was almost at the end of the neverending hallway. I had my doubts about this location, but it turned out alright. We had a beautiful view of the quiet pool and hot tub area, with quick access to the DStudios path. I did not mind the walk to main boardwalk; we could just cut through the pool area. My family loves to watch the entertainers, even after a long day in the parks. When they were little they would go in their jammies.
We have had delicious meals at The Flying Fish and love the choices at the bakery for breakfast. I just recommend that you get an early start to avoid the lines. I'm not sure why they have not expanded or changed the traffic pattern at the bakery, yet. Have a fabulous time!!
