I'm interested in hearing about anyone's recent stays in concierge at the WL. We are booked there in a standard room in Sept. and I am considering upgrading to CL. It's been almost 6 years since we did it (have stayed WL since then, but not club level) and I'm wondering if it is still a "worthy" experience. I'm thinking more about food offerings and the assistance given by CMs rather than questioning about cost.
Thanks in advance!
I've been lucky enough to stay in several Club Levels around WDW. (Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Wilderness Lodge.)
In terms of food, the AKL and the WL are my favorites. They're all delicious, but those two have offerings that I like the best. The WL has "skillets" at night that are really good. And cobbler night is out of this world.
In terms of the "lounge," the WL is probably my least favorite. Though it overlooks the wonderful lobby, it's hard to find a table to fit a larger group. And the TVs are spread out (which can be a good thing!) It's just ... not lounge-y to me. (The AKL win, hands down, for me as best lounge.)
I pretty much go with Eileen's comments, though I found sitting in the WL lounge area to be nice in the morning as the resort comes to life. I particularly liked sitting where I could overlook the courtyard. I was by myself however, and Eileen's comment about larger groups is spot-on.

I got to stay concierge at WL in 2006 and 2008. In 2008, the food and service were just as wonderful in 2006. I haven't heard of any major changes there in the past 6 years.

Hey Eileen, I was wondering if you could rate all the CLs that you have visited. I've always been interested when it comes to CL which had the better service, food, view, etc.
I agree we did WL Concierge level in'09.
Was worth it. Returned in '10 didn't do CL realized its better.
Returning this August for AKL CL
Can't wait 111 days left.
Also we didn't buy a single breakfast the entire time we were in WL
Saved a lot of money

WL Concierge Level was everything I hoped it would be. We stayed CL there for the first time in November 2010 and loved it so much we went back in May 2011. My most recent visit was February 2012. The cast memebers were AWESOME and the food was FANTASTIC. I cannot wait to go back!!!
Thanks to you all for your comments! I too remember the size and seating of the lounge being my biggest complaint....not that I find I complain too much when I'm at Disney at all!! We had an extra-special CM who paid a lot of attention to my then 6 yr old granddaughter, and it made the stay even more wonderful!
Hey Eileen, I was wondering if you could rate all the CLs that you have visited. I've always been interested when it comes to CL which had the better service, food, view, etc.
I can... but I'd have to list why
#1 - My fav of all is the AKL. From the CMs to the food to the setting to the resort as a whole. The lounge is airy and comfortable and I really enjoy sitting there. It can be a bit of a hike from the room to the lounge, but it's not a deal-breaker. And getting to do the Sunrise Safari is the very best perq of staying CL.
#2 - the WL is a close second. The staff, the food, and the location of the resort are all ideal. I like that the CL rooms are pretty close to the lounge for the most part. But I don't like the layout of the lounge very much because I'm usually there with several friends and we'd like to sit together.
#3 - the Beach Club. But I think that may because I like this resort so much for its decor and closeness to World Showcase. Don't get me wrong, the food was terrific and the staff were great and very friendly. Again, it comes down to the lounge. It's kind of a small, dark box with no view.
#4 - surprisingly, it's the Grand Floridian. We were in the main building and we were only in CL for one night. The food was displayed beautifully and was plentiful and tasty. Oh, and the toiletries in the rooms were SPECTACULAR!!! But... the GF just has a vibe that doesn't sit well on me. It's very Hollywood-does-Victorian, IMHO.
I am very much looking forward to my upcoming stay at AKL club level, and the Sunrise Safari. WL and Yacht Club are my only other stays at club level. I think Yacht Club is much like Beach Club. I liked the food offerings and the CMs were very nice, but I would put it after WL only because I like the theming more at WL.
I found the CMs at WL to be great. And fairly imperturbable, too, Eileen?

We've stayed WL club level 3 times and have had great experiences all 3 times. We even saw familiar faces in the C.M.s from our stay last June. Here's our club level experiences:
1. W.L. Love the food and don't mind the lounge being spread out as we feel that gives us a bit of privacy, you're sitting not on top of the next guests.
2. Poly Loved the view and the food. Unfortunately, I'm the only Poly fan in the family.
3.. G.F. We've only stayed club in the Sugar Loaf Bldg. Loved! the food but the lounge area, unless it's changed, is just a bunch of tables that are nearly on top of one another.
4. AKL Good food and a nice atmosphere.

We are considering upgrading to CL for both our Aug and Dec WL trips. A few questions, Can you get a beer or wine and bring it back to your room? Also the food, can you take that back as well? Lastly do they have offerings other then cheese and crackers for vegetarians? Thanks in advanced for any responses
