DH agreed to a trip this september!!!! We have to stay Value and i was wondering which is better Pop or Movies? We just stayed at Pop this december and have stayed there 2 other times, so i was thinking about all star movies. Please tell me everything...good, bad and ugly, which you would stay at, when was it remodeled last, etc about all star movies so i can make my decision.
I've stayed at both and I love Movies. We loved the location of the Mighty Ducks Bldg. It wasn't too far from the main bldg and had it's own pool plus it was right next to the bus stop at Music so you could pick either bus if there were different All Star buses just pick the shorter line
I know you didn't mention this, but what about Art of Animation? The standard rooms are scheduled to open Sept. 15. I was just pricing a September trip, and for 4 nights, a standard room at AoA came in just $20 more than Pop.
Also, don't forget about free dining in September. There was availability at AoA and Pop when I checked (not sure about any of the All Stars).
Was rehabbed in 2011 I believe...we have as much fun looking around this resort as we do around POP. We decided on going back to ASMo in September due to taking our granddaughters, they will get more out of the movie theme at ASMo more than POP theme. We like that POP has its own bus system where the all stars share buses but that is the only thing that we can think of as a negative. They are both values so rooms are not huge, they are crowded, no slides at the pools but all in all we enjoy them as much as the moderates or deluxes and with the money saved we get to spend on other things other than the room.
We stay at Music every year and really like the All Stars. They are effectively one large resort with three bus stops, six pools, and three food courts. You can use all of the facilities of each resort, including attending nightly movies by the main pool at Music. All three resorts have been refurbished in the last few years. We have always found our rooms to be clean and in good repair.
Movies is fun for kids because they will recognize characters like the Dalmations, but all three of the All Stars have wonderful icons and characters to delight everyone. And--the last McDonald's on property is right outside the gates in case you just must have some of those fries late at night.
