1) Have all the rooms been renovated by now and all have Queen beds (except for the Kings)? If not, which section (s) should we request?
2) What type of slide do they have? I know FQ has the dragon slide, but I couldn't find any decent pictures of Riverside's slide. (If you know of any good pics, please let me know where to find them.)
Location: A little over 1000 miles from my happy place!

I believe just about all of the rooms have been updated with only a few remaining to be completed. You can find a full list of the room renovation schedule here: www.portorleans.org. It's a great site with LOTS AND LOTS of info about POR and PORFQ. If you can't find pics of the slide there, Allearsnet.com is also a great site and has tons of pictures. We love POR and will be there for a 4th visit this December!
Thank you for the link, very interesting. The royal rooms are beautiful! I'm still not sure about the slide, I can only see where it comes out. Would like to see where it starts and if it's curvy or straight, and how long it is. Just trying to get my ducks in a row before trying to convince Hubby that we "need" to stay there, lol.
I haven't found any good pictures of the slide at POR, either, not even on AllEars. You might check the archives on here, to see if someone has posted one.
We will be there in Aug/Sep, if you haven't found one by then, I'll send you one.

POR is our fav moderate resort. I think its one of the best landscaped resorts on property just behind Poly. The grounds are beautiful. We love the mansion section either Acadian house or Magnolia Terrace are my favs.
Rooms are recently refurbed with all new everything. Queen beds.
Love the boat to DTD, evening entertainment in the lounge, horse & carriage rides, and fun pool. Also like the option of quiet pools. Great food court too.
I can tell you the slide is curvy and rather long - much longer than the dragon at French Quarter. We love the slide there. Riverside is our favorite Moderate resort, but we haven't stayed there in a few years since becoming DVC members. Beautiful grounds and like the pool area.
The rooms aren't all renovated yet; they're supposed to be finished in August. The slide is very cool; it's long and curving. Don't miss the boat ride to DTD
Just trying to get my ducks in a row before trying to convince Hubby that we "need" to stay there, lol.
If you haven't stayed there before....then OF COURSE you NEED to stay there!!
We are all excited....we will be staying in one of the Royal Rooms this October....Soooooo looking forward to it!!!

Bob jackson puts on a great show, suitable for all family members. Some call him Yehaw Bob. You can look him up on the internet. He's really fun. Plays piano, and entertains!
The slide is "curvy" and longer than the slide at FQ. It is a slow slide though (not really thrilling...). The entire Old Man's Island is very fun and well themed. We love the pool and the quiet pools.
POR is a great resort. Have your hubby check out the websites listed above. Just seeing how beautiful the resort is may convince him! But also tell him that it has a great food court, fishing, boating, boat ride to DTD, lovely sprawling grounds, a very relaxing laid back feel...
The entertainment in the lounge is a singer/entertainer (can't recall his name...someone will probably post it soon). Pretty good show.
