Are the Resorts, etc Going to Be Busy This Christmas?
We haven't been able to visit WDW for a 4 years due to the effects of economy on our jobs.
We're excited because we're planning to go this year during the week leading up to Christmas.
We were really pleased that we were able to reserve a deluxe room (aka Jr. Suite) at the WL.
Normally those are tough to get, especially this late in the Fall. So were really surprised.
That got us thinking. Does anyone have any clue whether lots of people are planning to visit WDW this year or is it mostly going to be folks from FL and the local area? We're worried there won't be lots of people visiting this year.

Disney is the only one that knows how booked the resorts are for Christmas at this time but if I had to bet I would say Christmas will be as crowded as ever.
I was there in October and it was more crowded than I have ever seen it at that time of year. I think with the fantasyland expansion you can expect bigger crowds than usual
You don't need to be worried that people WON'T be there. I would be more PREPARED for the massive crowds that WILL BE there. The week leading up to Christmas is the week that most kids have off from school. Christmas is the busiest time of year for Disney. Now if you were going and leaving BEFORE the 19th or so, it might not be as bad, but from Dec 20th on through about January 3rd or 4th it is slammed full of ppl. Check the crowd calenders for those dates.
You were probably able to book that room because it is an expensive room and will be one of the last ones to sell out.
But do yourself a favor and KNOW that when you go it is going to be wall to wall shoulder to shoulder people every where you go. I have seen the pictures of the Christmas crowds. It is astonishing.
And as another poster said the crowds this year even in October were bigger than they were last year at the very same time. We went the exact same dates 2 years in a row and the crowds were bigger this year.

Or they had a cancellation right before you called to book.
I agree with everyone else -- with all the promotions Disney has offered, there has been no indications that their reservations are not meeting previous years.
