Hi there, Im planning a trip in aug. I was wonder if there is much diference in the rooms. Im staying in a 2 bedroomvilla with a lake view,But I was wondering if the park view is better. Im travling with 6 kids And Im starting to think my kids might like the view better of the theme park.
IF you are going to spend several evenings at the villa and would be watching WISHES from your rooms, then the theme park view is better. It's a wonderful convenience to watch WISHES from the comfort of your own private space, in your comfy bed clothes, and then sack out! (No anti-climactic cattleyard experience of leaving the park and returning to the resort, as you're already "home.") We left the blinds on our window open at night just enough that we could see the castle as our "night light" and fall asleep watching it change colors.
During the daytime, the parking lot view is nothing to rave about.
If you're not going to take advantage of the private viewing of WISHES, then the lake view is a better, more relaxing, view.
The view of the theme park is nice, but I'm assuming you're staying on Disney Vacation Club points? If so, it will cost more points, and they can be hard to get, as they're popular.
Personally, I'd stick with the lake view. You may luck out, as twice now out of three times we've had a lake view with a partial theme park view.
There is link to disboards below that has some photos from several rooms, along with the room classification. We had a Lake View in June 2011 on the inner arc (facing the pool and Bay Lake), with no Theme Park at all. Still DD6 loved the view b/c she could see the pool and the lake. For us, it was worth having the LV b/c, as Cheryl mentioned, we could use fewer points, which allowed us to return in Oct 2011 @ BWV for MK's 40th Anny.
