Our last Value stay was in Sports (first time there) and that might be my new favorite, ousting Music. I really prefer those resorts over PopC. So, lower prices is great!

I'm pretty sure I read here that AS Movies was refurbished in 2011.

EDIT: here's a youtube of a refurbished room:

Here I was thinking/hoping the resort prices for the new Art of Animation would level off to be comparable with the other values; but I guess they are going to keep the prices different. I would not pay extra for Pop over All Stars; atleast not at this point in time (I've stayed at both and like them equally).... However, I would really like to stay at the Art of Animation next time if the budget permits....

Both Pop and AOA are in a different resort area and Disney has made some slight improvements when they built them over the All Stars. Similar to the deluxe resorts you do have a lead in price point. So they do price both Pop and AOA higher.

When you look at pricing online you need to pay attention to the room category. Many times you'd go and price a room and it will always default to the standard view. Then the one time you don't pay attention it defaults to a standard pool view.

Doing this 365/24/7 you tend to know what doesn't look right. I always cringe when we get a Dmail from Disney saying they are "enhancing" the res system. That means you have to pay attention to everything. With a big fluctuation in pricing it could be an "enhancement" glitch.

Also weekend rates vs week rates have creeped up this year and if you ever feel something does not look right always call Disney for clarification

....holy gouging Batman!!!

....we always got poolside / preferred rooms ...even before the category of "Preferred Pool View" existed. When that tier of inflated room rate went into effect ...we said, "What the he__, we like it in those rooms and we'll pay the extra". I....We Love POP ......BUT...it'll be a cold day in Orlando before I pay $165/night for a room at POP. Heck....it'll be a pretty chilly one before I pay $143/night for a standard room!!

....looks like ...at this moment ...unless there's some serious "deals" offered in our vacation window .....we'll be visiting the Jersey shore instead of trekking to WDW. I'm seriously bummed out right now.............we were about 2 weeks out from booking this years trip.

We've stayed at AS Sports once and POP 3 times. We were very pleased for each stay.

We're going to try AoA this time. Pricing-wise, I didn't see a significant difference that would prevent us from choosing AoA.

We've upgraded from a standard room to a suite (due to the girls getting older and needing a little more privacy). So, by getting a suite we were limited to AS Music or AoA. It was less than a $50 over all difference. For me, I chose the $50 for a newer resort. We'll see how it goes. I'm very excited to stay at AoA though.
